Visionary Blogging provided the questions and I worked on the answers. I’ll answer one question a post to keep it focused.
I started with my personal finance blog’s goals. Now I’m sharing my goals for this blog for 2009. I took longer with this blog because it’s new and I really needed to get a general direction first for it.
How will I increase the authority of my blog in 2009?
Wow, this question made me see how could I possible turn this new blog into some kind of authority in 2009. I concluded that connection and content were going to be key, especially this year. conversations
There are simply many more sites with much more content. I can’t keep up with quantity, but I can do my best to build up quality with mine. That means I’m going to try and plan ahead on posts and give it a 24 hour period to allow proofreading and revision. This is a weak point I noticed and I’ll work extra hard on proofreading. Please email me with suggestions. For some posts, timeliness is more of an issue, but that will be the exception.
Creating connections and community is the second way I’ll work on building authority. If you check out my Twitter profile, I’m a little low on following people. It’s because I want to be rude, but I want to build Twitter conversations, not just tweets. I’m currently following bloggers whom I already subscribe to on my Google Reader.
What are your goals on building authority for your blog(s)?
