I’m working on some goals for 2009 for my blogs. I have two blogs running and hope to re-launch a third blog January. After doing the 30 Day Thesis Experiment, I decided to set some specific goals for my blogs for the upcoming year.
Visionary Blogging provided the questions and I worked on the answers. I’ll answer one question a post to keep it focused.
I started with my personal finance blog’s goals. Now I’m sharing my goals for this blog for 2009. I took longer with this blog becuse it’s new and I really needed to get a general direction first for it.
How will I make my blog more valuable in 2009?
I’ve been thinking about this for a few weeks as I wrote my other blog’s goals. I have to start with, who do I want reading this blog? I don’t want to have subscribers who just read. I’d like to have peers who read, comment, and share. I’m looking to build a tribe of entrepreneurs who want to produce good and useful content online and earn some income. I’m not looking to create content that tricks visitors to buy stuff or insults their time and intelligence.
To gain these readers means I have to be mindful of the content I put up on this blog. I have to participate on other blogs who have quality content and promote them when I can. It means I have to constantly work on improving the readability of the site and pay attention to feedback.
